Signs Around the Globe

I’ve recently taken on a brand new project that I’d like to share with fans of LATG. It’s a little bit different from what I’ve been doing here on Languages Around the Globe for the past few years, but I thought it was time to branch out just a little bit.

This year I’ve started a simple Instagram project called Signs Around the Globe. I’m building an account dedicated to funny, informative or otherwise interesting signs, banners, advertisements and the like from around the world. I think it ties in nicely with LATG and offers a touch of something different.

The goal is to collect images from followers as well – I don’t travel quite enough to fill this thing up myself, so I’m looking for your pictures as well! If you’re a serious Instagrammer and want to have your stuff published on SATG, send me an email at signs@latg.org. Signs can be of bad translations, funny or unique road signs, or really anything that might fit the profile!

I’ll be happy to tag you and link to your own account as part of the Signs Around the Globe community. Signs in any language are welcome (though a translation for non-English would be awesome).

And in case you’re not much of an Instagram user, I’ve embedded the SATG feed right here on this site, so anyone can take a look and keep up.

I know I’m not the first person to do something like this, but I thought it’d be fun. With your help we can make it super unique.

If you have any questions about Signs Around the Globe, just let me know! Shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to answer all of your questions about your image, hashtagging, linking to your profile, watermarks or anything else.

Take a look and send me a sign!!

And if you aren’t following already, LATG has an Instagram account as well. It’s really not language oriented, just features images from my life and travels, but you should check it out just the same. You can find it here.
